Things to Do in the Area

In-house concierge can arrange nearby horseback riding, zip lining, and tours for cable car ride to the peak of Mount Isabella de Torres, as well as several boat and ocean exploration activities. Safari tour options include the Dominicana Jones Safari Adventure during which participants cross rivers, pass through small villages, visit a school and market place and experience the 27 Damajagua waterfalls; the Outback Safari which takes participants to a typical Dominican home and family, swim in a crystal clear
river, shop at a local rum shack and relax on a peaceful jungle river boat ride; and the Monster Safari, which takes participants on 8 x 8 all terrain trucks through rivers and sugar cane fields, tasting freshly brewed local coffee, and taking a refreshing swim in a river. Ocean World Adventure Park with daily animal and aquatic shows and casino is also located next door to Lifestyle Holidays for another day of adventure.

Three Safari Options

Dominicana Jones Safari Adventure
Participate in this unique adventure; exploring the interior of the Dominican Republic. Cross rivers and pass through small villages with lots of Caribbean flavour, in lush evergreen valleys you will learn about the local tropical plants and fruits. Among other stops is a visit to a school, a market place, and a Dominican family, where you get in touch with the real Dominican life. The highlight of the day is the visit to the 27 “Damajagua waterfalls.” crystal clear water comes down from the mountains, forming small and large caves and canyons with stalagmites and stalactites in a thousand colours, cascading down into natural swimming pools. Swim in the refreshing pool of the first waterfall or explore the upper falls with the local guides. There are alternative activities for those who don’t wish to tour the falls.

Outback Safari
Visit a typical Dominican home, meet the family that live there & enjoy a drink of freshly made coffee with them. Pass by local schools & villages and see friendly Dominicans smiling & waving at you. Swim & cool off in a river with crystal clear water.. Shop at a local Rum shack with local products like Rum, Cigars, Coffee & lots more - All at the local prices! Enjoy a picnic/ buffet style lunch and a breathtaking merengue show before you relax on a peaceful jungle river boat ride. Walk through a fruit plantation to see fruit growing in its natural environment; you’ll even get to taste fresh fruit and sugarcane. See native animals like crocodiles, iguanas, turtles & more at our mini riverside ranch. Have fun Boogie Boarding on a 15 mile long secluded beach or just relax with the Caribbean sunshine on your face and a cocktail in your hand. A fun & professional English speaking guide accompanies you who will explain the history, culture, plants, animals and the way that Dominicans have lived since 1844. This tour is great for kids and includes boogie boarding and lots of activities.

Monster Safari

Blue Lagoon Safari
Take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear blue waters of the blue lagoon, swim in the waterfalls of Cabrera and visit the fashionable resort of Cabarete. Puerto Plata and Cable Car
Puerto Plata is a handsome city that showcases a fabulous display of Victorian style architecture, and what better way to see the town than by cable car? The changing views of the town and surrounding area make this a popular and unique way to oversee the land that Columbus discovered. Round off the day by visiting the Amber Museum, a Rum factory and the San Felipe fortress, built to protect the city from pirates! Discover the past and present of this fascinating area and shop for local gifts and souvenirs.

River Rafting
Maximum adventure and fun for everyone. Hop on a raft and enjoy the cool waters of the Yaque del Norte River, the longest in the Caribbean. In the company of professional guides, you will go through canyons and rapids to feel a fantastic adrenaline rush. You will discover places unknown to most. Action, nature and an once-in-a-lifetime adventure awaits. The tour includes basic training and the essential wetsuit, life vest, protective helmet. Breakfast and a plentiful lunch are included.

Zip Lining
(Yasika Adventures) Live the Thrill! Only a 30 minute drive along a scenic route from Puerto Plata is a specialized park for the latest in thrills - Zip Lining! Once at the park, highly experienced guides will train you on the security system and installation of the specialized equipment, as well as the details of the trail. This is where the adrenalin starts to flow. When launched off the first of 10 platforms and 8 cables which make up the system, you are suspended in the air between 100 and 300 meters, with speeds of up to 30 mph and heights of up to 100 feet above the ground. The rush of adrenalin combines the feel of the wind and incredible views which result in an unforgettable experience. Guests should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes, pants or longer shorts are recommended, as well as sun block and insect repellent. No skirts. Long hair should be tied back to avoid entanglement. Only Cameras with secure retaining strips are allowed on the tour.

Monster Bike - 4 Wheelers! or Funny Buggy Adventures
An adventurous half day tour, perfect to get to know the beautiful country side. Let the engines roar and cross through sugar cane fields, rivers and rough terrain. Visit a Haitian Village and see different plantations: bananas, coffee and various fruits. Stop in a typical ranch for some refreshments and pick up some souvenirs then clean of the dust swimming in Bergantin beach.

Santiago - Jarabacoa
Santiago is the 2nd largest city on the island and offers unique opportunities from ceramics to cigars! See how handcrafted cigars are made as you look over the shoulder of a nimble fingered Dominican cutting, rolling and finishing one of the 250 cigars that he makes daily. Take a whistle stop tour around the ceramics factory where you will see the famous faceless doll of the Dominican being made. Drive through the winding hills and mountains of Jarabacoa and meander through a steep valley, take a jeep ride to the waterfalls explore on horseback where you can cool off or just sit and relax amidst the spectacular mountains or Lunch and soft drinks are included.

Santo Domingo Culture – Colonial City
Santo Domingo is the first city built in the new world by European settlers, including Columbus’s brother, Bartholomeo, and his son Diego Columbus and a great part of the original settlement has remained the way it was approx. 500 years ago. You will be back in the past as you walk the colonial city and you will see the first street in the Americas; Calle de Las Damas, the oldest fortress in the Americas, the house of Nicolas de Ovando, governor of Santo Domingo in the early 1500’s and a ruthless warrior against the Taino Indians and you will visit the famous first cathedral of the Americas.( with dress code!) Your tour also includes a visit to the famous 3 Ojos; an underground world of caves and rivers, a lunch and is accompanied by a professional dominican guide.
